Welcome to Behavioral Interviewing for Engineers

Behavioral interviews are surprisingly important for your overall success as a candidate, especially if you are targeting more senior roles. We’ve found this is particularly true at FAANG and other top-tier companies, but this course will help you anywhere you apply. Downleveling often stems from your behavioral and system design rounds—not coding. Despite how important behavioral interviews are, there aren’t any good resources for engineers dedicated to them. That's why we built this course: to help you crack the behavioral round, once and for all.

We will walk you through the the optimal way to prepare for behavioral questions and explain how to leverage this advice to get better offers and compensation packages at your target level.

Course overview

This is a dynamic, self-paced course, which includes practical guides and frameworks that arm you with the tools to score points and avoid mistakes in every behavioral round.

Did you know that practicing an engineering interview five times before you take the real round makes you twice as likely to pass? Nothing helps ace your interview performance more than actual practice.

That's why, in addition to the lessons in this course, your Exponent membership also includes:

How to use this course

  1. Work through the Fast Track module first. If your big interview is tomorrow, this module is all you need and you can finish it in 2 hours. If you're not in a rush, work through all the modules in order (also starting with the Fast Track module first.)
  2. If you have the time, repeat lessons and exercises multiple times for best effects.
  3. If you have the time, cycle between completing key course lessons and then immediately implementing those lessons in a mock interview (with a peer or our AI interviewer).
  4. Upon completing the course, walk away with a customized behavioral cheat sheet you can keep on your desktop for your next important behavioral round.
