Welcome to Exponent's Product Analyst Interview Course
Product analytics is a unique and fast-growing field—one that sits at the intersection of data, business, and product.
To break into top tech companies as a product analyst, you’ll need more than just technical chops. You must demonstrate sharp analytical thinking, a deep understanding of user behavior and product strategy, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and designers.
This course is designed to walk you through every step of the product analyst interview process—from SQL and analytics case studies to product sense questions and stakeholder communication. It combines the best of our data analytics and product management interview prep courses—so you’ll be ready for this hybrid role that demands both analytical rigor and product intuition.
How we made this course
We didn’t create this course in a vacuum. We’ve worked closely with product analysts, hiring managers, and interviewers at companies like Google, Meta, Uber, Amazon, and LinkedIn.
After analyzing hundreds of real interview questions, feedback forms, and hiring rubrics, we’ve developed a focused and practical curriculum that targets exactly what top companies look for in product analyst candidates. The result is a comprehensive course tailored to help you succeed.
Here’s what you’ll get:
Hands-on learning: You’ll dive into realistic mock interviews, take-home exercises, product case studies, and analytics challenges. These simulate real-world problems that product analysts face—whether it’s identifying a product metric anomaly or designing a dashboard for a new feature.
Dual-track insights: This course draws from both the data analytics and product management worlds. You’ll learn how to think like a PM when answering product sense questions, while still leveraging your data strengths to back up your reasoning. You’ll also learn how to communicate your analysis effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
Practical frameworks: From diagnosing retention drops to framing product recommendations, we’ll equip you with easy-to-apply structures and proven frameworks. You’ll learn what strong vs. weak answers look like and how to make your thinking clear, confident, and customer-focused.

How to use this course
Read through each lesson thoroughly. If you’re already confident in a certain area (like SQL), feel free to skim or jump ahead to focus on weaker spots.
Once you understand the foundational concepts, spend time on practice questions, especially in the product sense and case study sections. Don’t just read model answers—practice speaking your thoughts out loud, record your answers, and review how they compare to expert responses.
Try to simulate real interviews by practicing with a peer or an AI interviewer. Get feedback, adjust, and repeat. Building fluency in your responses takes time, but with consistent practice, you’ll get there.
Our recommendation: do at least one practice question a day for a month. You’ll build not only your skills, but your confidence.
