Interview process

Overall, I had a very positive interview experience. The process felt organized and conversational, and I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the role, the team, and how the position contributes to the broader organization. The interviewer created a comfortable environment that allowed me to speak openly about my experience and approach to problem-solving. I felt that I communicated my experience and interest in the role well. One area I could have improved was being slightly more concise in a few of my responses. Overall, I left the conversation with a stronger understanding of the opportunity and a positive impression of American Express.

Interview tips

I would tell a friend to understand the role beyond the job description and be prepared to explain how their experience connects to the team’s priorities. I would also recommend preparing strong examples around problem-solving, collaboration, and managing projects or priorities across different stakeholders. The conversation felt very natural, so I would focus less on memorizing answers and more on being able to clearly explain your experiences, decisions, and thought process.

Company culture

What stood out to me was how collaborative and people-focused the culture felt. My conversation with Leai was very welcoming and genuine, and I appreciated how openly she spoke about the team, the work, and the broader organization. I also got the sense that there is a strong emphasis on teamwork, professional growth, and giving people the opportunity to take ownership and make an impact.
