Product Operations Lead Interview Experience
Interview process
It was a straightforward interview process. I was contacted by the recruiter, had hiring manager, skip level / team screen and then an onsite meeting with cross functional team members. I didn't appreciate that there was miscommunication with the recruiter on which of the two roles that were open that I was interviewing for, and that ultimately cost me an offer because I prepared a deck for the wrong role.
- Recruiter screen
- Phone interview
- Technical interview
- Final round
Interview tips
Be very proactive in engaging with the cross-functional team and soliciting thoughts and feedback from them during the onsite presentation - don't just ask for questions.
Company culture
Netflix has a very intense A players only culture.

Imagine that you are a Product Operations Lead for a fitness and wellness lifestyle company. Over the next year, this company plans to expand its business to offer fitness classes that customers can access and stream on-demand Since this is a new org with newly formed teams across product, design, engineering, user research insights/data science with no established ways of operating, planning, and ultimately delivering on the new product, where would you as the Product Operations lead focus to enable the team to deliver on their objectives? How would you utilize what already exists for the company and tailor it directly to this new business line?
I designed a deck that considered business priorities and organizational maturity in designing the operating model and planning cadences, team structure / roles & responsibilities, OKR and roadmapping process. I shared the implementation and change management plan and risks and mitigations to the deployment.
