Surprises: I was surprised by the heavy emphasis on technical conflict and the depth of the retrospectives; they don't just want the "what," they want the "how" and "why" behind every engineering trade-off. Deep Dive into OIN: Go beyond the surface of the Okta Integration Network (OIN). Advice: Understand the monetization potential—specifically how to transition a directory into a transactional marketplace. Product Metrics: Be ready to discuss conversion rates for specific features like Workflows and SSO value propositions for different buyer personas (IT admins vs. Developers). Technical Prep: Refresh your stories on API migrations and GenAI security protocols, as these were core themes in the later rounds.
Company culture
Overall Vibe: The team has a very product-led and intellectually curious vibe. Technical Respect: There is a high level of respect for technical complexity; the interviewers weren't just checking boxes, they were genuinely interested in the nuances of agentic identity and AI-led procurement. Transparency: The recruiter was incredibly helpful and provided an accurate roadmap of the process, which reflects a culture of transparency and candidate respect. Red Flags: No major red flags, though the rigor of the technical rounds suggests a high-pressure environment where PMs are expected to be as technically grounded as the engineers they work with.
