“First screening was good and friendly. They did a good check on my resume and knew it all. The questions were really accurate on each role I had. The problem was that they did not communicate properly about the interview process. For my second round, I was asked to talk to a tech lead so he could see if I am a potentially good fit, and after that, if the answer was yes, the third round is technical, and the fourth is a reference check. Turns out there is no second or third: I showed up in my second round and went straight to whiteboarding and coding. I was shocked. I was prepared for one hour of friendly talk and found myself in 3 and a half hours of an interview. ”

“It didn't go as expected. I did not have as many interviews as expected, and overall, the process wasn't great as the recruiter changed midway.”

“I interviewed for an AI role so there was a clear focus on AI knowledge and experience throughout. Less focus on testing product skills but more on how comfortable I'm with designing a knowledge base, metrics, evals, trade-off's. It was more technical than I was prepared to answer”

“Technical screening wasn't that hard. Have to solve 3 SQL and 3 Python. You are fighting against the time.”

“The process is a bit different than other companies. They are thorough and stress a lot of importance on the cases you will have to complete. The recruiter is very supportive throughout the process. ”

“Very disorganized. They forget you are interviewing with them unless you remind them. The technical round was very confusing, as the interviewer kept contradicting themselves and made a sarcastic comment at the end (“Hope that was not very painful,” with a grin). I almost missed my flight home because of interview reschedules and interviewers not showing up to rounds (even though I waited with no update.) The superday consists of six rounds. If you are an early-career manager, managers seem clearly uninterested, asking robotic questions and then appearing disengaged while you answer.”

“While the process is relatively demanding, it can be completed rapidly, with a significant emphasis placed on cultural alignment and core values.”

“Be prepare even during recruiter screening. The questions can get very detailed. ”

“I was surprised at the volume of questions in the management screen. I had previously intererviewed at Amazon 3-4 yrs ago and it was 3 or 4 questions. Half of these questions were behavioral and half were management framework/philosophical.”

“The weirdest Anthropic round was the company values interview. It was almost like a therapy session, and honestly if you went to a therapist at some point, you will pass that round much more easily.”

“What was very unusual is they didn’t give me any tooling to draw the system design, so I just sketched it on a piece of paper and talked them through it, then we got into this oddly deep debate about whether hover-over history should count as a recommendation signal.”
