Product Manager Interview Experience

Coinbase
I went all the way to the final round at Coinbase, did a super round with five case interviews, and honestly felt I nailed all of them, but I still never heard back and got zero feedback.

Interview process

I interviewed for a Product Manager role at Coinbase after getting in through a referral. The process started with a very short recruiter screen, then a high-level hiring manager conversation where I mostly walked through my resume and background. After that, I had a super round with five case-based interviews covering success metrics, product design, a card-usage drop-off case, improving a product I like, and wireframing improvements for the Coinbase trading dashboard. Honestly, the structure felt pretty standard and not especially difficult, and I felt like I nailed the interviews. What was frustrating is that I made it to the final round, asked for feedback, and still never heard back.

Interview tips

I would tell someone to practice cases, especially product sense, product design, strategy, and data-analysis style questions. The prompts I got were broad, so you should be ready to structure an answer quickly and show how you think through the problem, the solution, and the stakeholders involved. I would also prepare for metrics questions and product improvement questions because those definitely showed up in my loop.

Company culture

Coinbase seems to keep the early rounds pretty simple and then puts a lot of the evaluation into one big case-heavy super round. The cases felt designed to test how I think across different PM situations like metrics, product sense, diagnosing a problem, and working with stakeholders, more than testing anything super niche. The process itself felt standard to me, not unusually hard, but the communication afterward was weak because I got no feedback even after making it to finals.
