Interview process
The recruiter was kind and well organized. The product sense question was unique and fun to solve. The execution question threw me through a loop. I assumed OpenAI carefully released models for safety reasons but was told they give the model to everyone immediately to test it, so I had to pivot my launch strategy at the last moment.

Interview tips
Talk to friends who have shipped and built with models to understand how those launches differ from normal product launches. Also talk to friends to understand company norms. The mission can be misleading.
Company culture
PMs were very open that this is a hard place to work and to be careful before joining. I also sensed they were very picky on interview answers in a gatekeeping way, so it’s important to talk to people you know about company norms so you can make good assumptions in your answers.
